HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR JEWELLERY

After you have purchased your new accessory, it is more important to take proper care of it to help protect the durability and quality of your jewellery. This is especially true for 925 Sterling Silver products, which are prone to tarnishing and most of our Earrings, which are carefully Hand Crafted.

Here are 4 simple steps on how you can do this:

Wear with precaution

Jewellery should be the last thing you put on when you’re getting ready.

Remove jewellery before you:

  • Shower
  • Bathe
  • Engage in heavy exercise
  • Swim in the sea
  • Swim in a chlorinated swimming pool

Say no to Chemicals

When exposed to certain chemicals, the metal used in jewellery reacts resulting in damage such as tarnishing.

Substances that you should be careful about:

  • Perfumes & body sprays
  • Soap & shampoo
  • Chlorine
  • Cosmetics

Store it Separate & Safe

Jewellery is intricate and delicate. It needs to be kept with extra care and safety, so it doesn’t break, spoil or tangle with other items. This can also prevent tarnishing for silver and other products.

Preferably, store each item individually in:

  • Boxes
  • Soft pouches
  • Zip-lock Bags
  • Other anti-tarnish material

Clean with Care

The most integral part of caring for your jewellery is making sure you keep it spick and span. This entails that all pieces of jewellery are kept in a clean environment and are cleaned thoroughly from time to time. Especially for silver products. This prevents your jewellery from tarnishing and looking dull and old.

For Fashion Jewellery:

Use a clean cotton cloth to wipe your pieces. Make sure you are not rubbing roughly to avoid damage. If you feel this is not enough, rinse in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.

For 925 Sterling Silver Jewellery:

Use a small amount of silver polish on a soft cloth, gently rub the jewellery several times. Then rinse in warm water and dry thoroughly.
